Welcome to The Carroll School of Harp Website.

Sharon Carroll works with many budding young (and not so young harpists) as their teacher to help them develop and grow as musicians.  Her method of teaching allows pupils to gain confidence quickly and perfect the necessary skills required to play the most complicated pieces with ease, grace and the utmost enjoyment.

Pupils can study for their traditional music grades (LCM), classical grades (Trinity and RIAM) or they can learn for their own pleasure, without pressure, in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.  Sharon has had the great pleasure in helping many pupils reach their performance dreams such as excelling in local concerts,  Fleadhs, Feisanna as well as gaining their musical performance and theory grades.

Sonas, The Carroll School of Harp Ensemble adds another exciting level to the School's performances. Open to students of all abilities and ages, the traditional harp ensemble will prepare students for group performance and will spur each performer's development - as well as producing beautiful harp melodies and arrangements. Sonas Harp Ensemble have won the Open Group category at Newry Feis against very strong competition.

Pupils from the Carroll School of Harp have gone on to study the harp at Chetham's School of Music (the largest specialist Music School in the UK), Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Greenwich, London, the University of Limerick, and Queen's University, Belfast.

Thumbs up!
